What is the best way to wash tootles underwear?
Remove the charcoal filter pad from the underwear and throw your tootles underwear with the rest of your laundry! We recommend cold wash tumble dry low.
How do you wash the carbon insertable pads?
The important thing to consider with the pads is that the activated carbon should not be submerged in water. Meaning, don't put these in the wash!
Now we understand that it may seem gross to not wash your pad, but the pad is not touching skin, so you wouldn't have to wash it necessarily.
Now, if you really want to wash the pads, we would suggest just using a wet rag with soap, and just scrubbing the outside fabric. That is the best way to preserve the activated carbon fabric.
Replacement pads are also available for purchase.
How long does the activated carbon last?
This is a case by case situation based on the frequency and deadliness of your farts! The activated carbon essentially "traps" the fart smell, so over time, the carbon fabric will get "clogged" up.
With that being said, we generally see for people who wear tootles every week, that they will need to replace their carbon filter pad every 2-3 months.
Does tootles also act like a muffler?
Sadly no
Does tootles actually work?
Yes it does, its just science! Activated charcoal uses a process called "adsorption" that traps hydrogen sulfide molecules (those are the molecules that make flatus stink!)
Is charcoal the same as carbon?
Yes, the terms are interchangeable and synonymous. You may see in our copywriting the two terms being used, but it all means the same thing!
